Sea of Thieves Release Date, News, Features, and Trailer
It has been a while since we saw a game from Microsoft-owned, United Kingdom-based studio Rare that wasn’t Kinect-themed. From 10 years ago to date, the studio has been producing Kinect Sports Rivals, an amazing 90’s fighting game blockbuster, and the Xbox avatars, but recently they have returned to their old ways with new tools, producing the amazing-looking open world Sea of Thieves.
In true developer fashion, the game features an attractive art style that incorporates the lighter side of 7 seas. This isn’t a game that is in any way realistic and dark, you can fire your character out of canons to get around faster, and you take bananas to gain health.
Straight to the Point
- What is it? It’s an upcoming open-world video game
- What can I use to play it? PC and Xbox One

Sea of Thieves Trailers
At E3 2017, the developer presented another trailer for the game which showed what you can expect the game to look like. The trailer showed the game’s signature visuals and showed a team of 4 as they sought to get a chest of treasure to take it to their ship. The players walk around the islands where they are faced with ghosts of previous participants who are able to track you and you will need to be careful, especially when you are busy collecting the treasure.
What is Sea of Thieves?
It is a pirate-themed action game that will pair you with strangers or friends to explore the islands and seas together, battling other pirate ships, docking of sandy beaches, finding treasure maps, and working with your crew to find out where the booty’s at. This game is quite co-operative, although there are a few combative elements with third parties.
What Can You Do?
You will be glad to release that all the best hits from a life lived on islands and seas. From moving around with your crew to singing to getting scurvy, there are a lot of things that you can do as a pirate. You will have a choice of over three different missions to choose from. Some involve solving puzzles to finding treasure, while others involve much simpler chores of visiting the island and finding a place.
What if you want to be Alone?
Solo sailing is often welcome – there are big ships that take groups to the sea and smaller ones that take one or two people. And there is no con in this, if many small ships come together, you are able to have a gang.
How To Play
You can play the game if you are part of an insider program – which is like exclusive rights offered to some people. Because the game is geared toward reflecting the community, the developer offers play sessions to find out which part they like and which need changing or fixing.
A brand new game is coming out in 2018. Ensure that you watch out for it and keep on playing video games.
